A little help with size and some description.
If the body is hollow, then I think the head may have been the handle.
    Knife or letter opener?
And where is the seal? on the bottom? or the head? If the head, then maybe not an opener/knife.

Agree with cluttered. I also would like to see a shot of the whole bottom. This could be resin, bone, or ivory. Would need to see a photo of the grain to make even a guess.

Does this little knobby thing come off too? Don't force it.

It about a foot and a half tall. The picture of the letters is on the base of the head. The piece is solid.

Only a guess. Appears to be bone.
Interesting that it only holds the seal. Wonder what the seal reads.
What could you ink it with that wouldn't stain the piece.

She probably represents one of the goddesses - not sure it is Quan Yin. She's usually with a lotus flower, not a peacock.

If I were guessing, I'd say ivory head on a bone body. No clue on the age.
