The carved beads are ivory. Just piling it up.

The pearl like ones are painted glass - with a 14K clasp?

That's entirely possible; I've found costume pearls with precious metal clasps before. A lot of times they get missed because people see the glass pearls and miss the good part. The glass beads can be quite nice. I'd sell the clasp separately (new ones go for US$50 at least) and soak the beads in acetone to take the nasty paint off. The glass beads underneath are often rather pretty.

I found an MS reaction plus sinus crud. The weather changes are kicking my butt. There's some referred pain making it feel like something's wrong that's actually wrong elsewhere.... Happy Christmas season! (every single danged year, it's something)

My Last purchase of 2016, From a private purchase ,

Bought from A Auctioneer I know

Bit of sad history this one but adds to the uniqueness of it .

    Very nice Historical Item 266-258x300.jpg

Huddersfield was built by John Elder and Company of Govan, Scotland, and launched on 23 September 1872.[2] In 1897 she passed into the ownership of the Great Central Railway.

On 26 May 1903 on leaving Antwerp, Belgium, she was in collision in the River Scheldt with the Norwegian steamer Uto and sank. All 22 of her passengers – emigrants from Galicia on their way to Canada - drowned.[3] The crew of 17 were rescued by the company ship Retford.

Believed to Be Bell From First Class Dinning Room.

charlie, do you think that's kosher? I've seen a lot of commemorative bells and/or later creations.

That's a good question but like I said I bought it of a Auctiotioner had it in
    Own collection .

Also most Commemorative items seem to be well known ships or tragedies so I think that would make it Authentic enough .

Neat piece. I got a snow-delayed box in the mail today, but nothing in it is particularly old.

I bought a silver-plated engraved bowl from the year 1900 and paid a bit of a salty price for it as these bowls aren't generally worth much. I came home and noticed one of the handles had broken :(

I think it was already broken in the store, I just didn't notice it because it was placed right even though it felt a bit loose.

    Hi,
It can be repaired at a small price. It just needs to be SILVER soldered or a cheaper fix use "crazy glue". I had the lock smith solder mine. It was 6 dollars. It is a pretty bowl.

All posters are always good to pick up. I believe that and have a lot. Of late my local movie theatres give away mini ones and I take those. My Safeway no longer rents movies but they used to sell the bigger ones cheap.
They take up little room and can only go up in $ unless damaged. I have an Air France one that at last check, albeit long ago, was worth 350ish.
