Featured Really cool old panio bench before N after (restored)

    Hi,

    This is a bench i restored, full ground up work. on the wood it was stamped 1952.

    Looks amazing. i don't know how you managed to get the paint out of the intricate carvings. It was well worth the restoration. I hope you have a piano!

    What beautiful work! But are you sure 1952 isn't a model number? At a glance, I'd date it to the 1920s.

    I would date it to the twenties too, I think you did a beautiful job on it.

    Agreed, it looks beautiful. You did a wonderful job!

    it also looks like a vanity bench, unless there are hinges I can’t see (for storage of sheet music).

    Yeah i used actually 3 different paint strippers, the first layer came off simple, the original layer was cemented on and i just had a hard time getting it to come off.. so i scraped it, sanded it, some came off with paint stripper. this was be far the hardest piece ive done.

    I def agree it being a vanity piece, also i do agree it has to be older then 1952.

    no the seat just screws to the bench, it never had hinges.
