    What makes you think it is antique? Where did you get it? What is its history?

    Could be homemade or modified at home (I've got a couple shelf units that were.) But I don't think 100 years old yet.

    Looks to be a mission book stand. The paint pretty much kills its value as an antique. Not a throw-away but not worth too much.

    Hard to tell what exactly is there under that paint but I agree that it seems to have a home made look or perhaps that is just the paintjob.
