Chinese or Japanese Black Mark Translation Help

Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. The coloring is overglazed and it measures 5-1/4"H x 5-1/4"W at its widest. It's a pretty cool looking jar and the decorations are a bit unusual, thanks in advance.

    All I can tell you is that the marks pictures are upside down.
