    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone on here is into clocks (as much as me!) and could tell me a little bit more about the history of my Harrods Carriage Clock (picture below)?

Roughly how old is this clock and when was it on sale? I've looked on the Harrods website and it's clear that they don't sell anything like this now!

How much would this have been at purchase price, and how much do these clocks sell for now (i'd never sell it - it's a family heirloom) but just curious!

Hi @JDi and welcome to Antiquers!

Is this the sort of battery powered clock that takes 2 C batteries?

Yes, it’s battery powered - I don’t think it’s C. I think AA - but will have to check when I get home.

These were big in the late 70s and early 80s here. Lascelles is a good thought.

Ah, that sounds about right! I can’t see any Harris’s ones on their website though. Did they make clocks for specific department stores?

Department stores were and are in the habit of commissioning items to be sold under their brand name. So it would appear that they did make this for Harrod's.

1980s makes perfect sense as a date. I can recall buying a carraige clock as a wedding present then, in John Lewis.
