American Blue Pottery identification would be appreciated

I've been given this "cookie jar" and am trying to learn as much about it as possible. I've been digging into reference on line reference material but am only getting more confused. I think it is interesting from the standpoint of the marks on the bottom and that even though it is a finished product it has characteristics (ie: crooked handle, some what I think are called "glaze pops"). The color although uneven is really quite attractive (to me). Anyway can someone point me in the right direction?

I know nothing about pottery per se, but I believe that that form is usually referred to as a Bean Pot.............though I have never seen one in that colour......

That is great information and i'll dig further into it but it appears to be a "dead-on" identification. One quick question: any idea why the "saw" type marks on the bottom? thks again

 

I think for ventilation when its set on a flat top cast iron cookstove.

I went and looked it up on eBay. Wow! The bidding took off like a rocket, with six days left to go yet! I had no idea that would happen.

I guess we should all keep our eyes open for these particular old bean pots.

Nice find. I use to live not that far from White Hall and often attended a monthly antique auction in the town. White Hall was going to be my guess on this one, I'm glad lauragarnet was able to give you an ID.
