    Hi all:

New here, my dad passed away in early September and have been trying to clean out his house. I have included here a chair and bedroom hutch? Not sure. I believe the dresser came across with my Great Grandmother from Poland in the 20's. The chair, I have no idea. Are these worth restoring? I have come across so many things as my Grandmother was sort of a hoarder before she passed and my dad then moved into her house. He threw out alot, but there is still many very old things.

    Thank you all.
    Laura

Click on "Full Size" when posting pictures. Downloading pictures scares everybody away!
    Just to help you out.

Hi, Laura. Your file is a .pdf instead of a .jpeg. Are there actual pictures inside?

Sorry, the files are too big so I created a pdf which is a much smaller folder. New here, so I will try again. Not sure how it all works. Thanks for letting me know

No problem, Laura, lots of new people have pictures too large for the 1MB limit.

Resizing your photos to about 400 pixels by 600 pixels should work.

These aren't very good versions of your photos I'm sure but I pulled them from the pdf.

If you resize your photos and either save them as a jpg and use the upload button or just copy/paste.

Not very good with pics. I am going to try and take a few more decent ones. Old phone, sorry plus I created a pdf in smaller file so that didn't help. I will get right...eventually, sorry

The first piece is an American oak dining room buffet about 1900-1910. The settee is maybe just a bit later, 1910-20. It looks like it could be mahogany or at least a mahogany finish. Neither are terribly valuable but, if family heirlooms, could be priceless to you. They don't look like they need too much, though having something reupholstered can get expensive.

Your back should not TOUCH the back of a seat.

Sit up straight, uncross your legs, stop jiggling your foot, don't sniff, blow your nose, keep your knees together, stop fidgeting, make INTERESTING conversation, watch out - don't slop your tea into your saucer, take ONE biscuit - THEN a small cake, stand when your sister enters the room,......................jeeze, Nanny has been dead for over 50 years and I can STILL hear her..............

I'd like to see clearer pictures of the settee. Particularly details of this
    area.
Brad is the expert, but it is possible this is late 1890s - 1915. Part of the revival of the American Empire style.

Too dainty to be Empire revival. If English, it would be considered Edwardian.

It's not that I just 'like' what you said Mansons, it's that I LOVE ❤️ EVERY WORD and can practically still 'hear' Mom saying it most of it, partly because I grew up living with everything antique, but Mom pretty much was "miss prim and proper" with us kids.....in a good way!!!!!

Mama & Papa were both fairly strict, but in a "nice and good way" as well. My Nanny (called Nana) was a stern, authoritative German termagant when it came to behavior............but she also loved to sneak us treats! I never understood how she could conceal a piece of bread spread with goose drippings in her pocket and not have it all smeared up and laden with lint!
