A pie safe is pretty self explanatory.
To me they are usually shorter and have punched tin

Now, linen presses I would think would be larger than a jelly cupboard, which in my mind is a enclosed pie safe..?
They are used so interchangeably Im confused.

What Im looking for is a pantry for my kitchen, meaning dry food storage.
Because of space Im not looking for permanent cabinetry which is why Id like one of the above.

Whats the difference and which one would yall suggest?

Yeah, they are going to be too wide. I need something about 24"+/-

I don't know if this is helpful at all. This is a piece that's from my husband's family. It's always been called a pie safe in the family but I think it's really a jelly cupboard. Anyway, it has fixed shelves inside (pardon the mess) and measures 40" wide, 53" high and 18" deep if that helps. (Those are silver chests underneath and aren't part of it.)

I always think of a linen press as being larger with sliding shelves.

I usually think of jelly cupboards as being somewhat shallow and they often have drawers on top. A pie safe is deeper and is pierced for air flow. A linen press is large and deep.

24" is very narrow. You may need a chimney cupboard. Most kitchens had a projecting chimney in the room that created a nook that was hard to use. Enterprising carpenters built cabinets to fit those nooks. They vary quite a bit due to the size of the space, skill of the carpenter, and intended use. There are a lot of reproductions made, as they are always popular. Here are a couple antique ones. The first is a bit wider than you usually see.

....or an auxiliary cabinet for a Hoosier. Note the cabinets on either side of this Hoosier.
