I decided to give my niece an ostrich egg for Christmas. Probably a dorky gift, but what do I know? As part of this I decided to make a special box to hold it. I made the box of the heavy single ply cardboard I frequently use when re-framing pictures, and held the pieces together with tissue paper inside and out.

Then I scrounged about a million pictures from online, edited the heck out out of them, added captions and used them to wallpaper all the surfaces.





It turned out remarkably well for a first (and only) attempt.

I've got a bunch of straw colored construction paper that I'm going to shred to make a nest inside for the egg.

Brilliant! How very clever of you! I can't even get silverware to line up on the table without a ruler, so projects like this are so far beyond me that even contemplation goes out the window............

PS - no gift of love is DORKY...........

 

What a precious gift that will make, I can see how much love went into it.
