Af, I hope the stain on the floor in the last picture isn't blood!

(I've probably watched too many British mysteries, which my DH and I have enjoyed immensely via streaming video.)

Pat Parker, re Afantiques' last photo:

I somehow got past the "stain" on the floor (probably because I was still reeling from the stove), but I can't quite get past the tall base to a floor lamp(?) which is seriously leaning toward the middle of the room because its base is tilted up against the wall. Its stance and location look a bit poltergeist-inspired to me.

Well I don't see much of any hoard pics anymore :( I thought it was a fun thread.:p Most sellers have hoards and of course do not decorate with the wares they plan to sell. I do plan on getting a nice big shed and metal shelves in the near future to seperate and catagorize my junque.:wacky:.

Also when I am able and get a fire under me, I will get my bedroom back to normal.;) Can't have Af showing me up ;) Now where is my vacuum?

Be careful what you ask for.
    :D

My basement - I have no idea what the floor looks like, as it appears my husband didn't want me to know. I had asked him to photograph the room ( you can see that his heart was not in it. ), since I can no longer get down there . . .

Messi - he didn't photograph the floor because he thought you still had some shame left! :D

Book, all those shelves are around the wall, the only stuff that should be on the floor, is a few bits of very small furniture, and not much of that because I have never liked doing furniture.
But note that we never see the bottoms of the shelves.

I strongly suspect that the floor is now full of his stuff!

Shiloh, dolls? I don't think I have any dolls down there?

I don't sell, otherwise I would definitely have rooms like all of the rest of you. By all appearances my house is clean, neat and tidy, but don't open a drawer or closet or shed. Most people have a junk drawer, I have several.

I do suffer from.....I might need that someday or I might wear that 20 year old outfit again. And yes, I am too lazy and unmotivated to do something about it until I have to.

And books. Am I seeing a pair of Tom Swifties? You cannot imagine how hard I try to see the titles of other people's books. I have said that I am not a hoarder, but I did, for many years, have about 4000 books. In shelves. And yes, I had read all thoroughly, and I knew the location in the bookcases of each and every one.

Spring Song is correct, but I don't think that is The Pot of Basil?
What ever it is, my (lucky) sister has a large copy of it. About 2 1/2 feet tall.

My house is over flowing with books. Some for reading, some for stock.

Right, I am sure everyone will be happy to know that I have recently been slapped for being a troll. I wish I knew what I said to prompt that but I gather it is just a general disagreement with my voice, opinion and rhetoric. When I am attacked from several sides, I tend to defend myself and I can see how that may look like behaving like a troll, but attacks will bring about a like response.

To spirit-of-shiloh, verybrad, gregsglass and anyone else I supposedly insulted but who never felt insulted, I have to thank you for some spirited and informative discussion.

"Tis. There are two, particularly famous, Pots of Basil. One is by William Holman Hunt; the other, the one you have, is by John White Alexander. The original hangs in the Boston Museum of Fine Art. It appears, with the, "Omigoshtherteitis," suddeness of the two Canalettos to the left of a doorway in the Wallace Museum in London. or Lautrec's barmaid in the Courtauld, and a whole bunch of paintings in NYC's Frick. (I REALLY get charged up when seeing the originals of things I've seen reproductions of all my life. Childish, I suppose, but there we are!)

"Isabella and the Pot of Basil".

My mother's middle name was Isabella.
I don't think she ever in her life looked like this though. :D
