    Hi,

I bought this today at an estate sale of a woman who frequently traveled to Europe. The estate sale company thinks it might be French.

Can someone please help me with identifying the piece?

The piece weighs 12 lbs and it stands 9 inches tall and 12 1/2 inches wide

The depth is 6 1/4 inches.

I would think Eastern Europe post WW2 with the unpolished cutting. Missed the signature but that could be the decorator.

    I see Luis Coled Freis
But I didn't get anywhere with it.

The last word is Freres. Let me go squint again at the siggie. I've not seen Eastern European with Greek Key but I have seen French glass with greyed etching like that.

I'm seeing like OBB Freres. Wonder if it is "Cole et Freres," Cole and Brothers, rather than Coled Freres or Coleal Freres? The first name has me stymied. It does look like Luis, but can't understand why the 2nd letter swings low like a "j" or "y" making it look more like Lyuis or Ljuis.

I saw something like Collet Freres. It isn't Luis, but my French brain has gone for a walk. I think it might be an abbreviation for something.

    Yeah, that bothered me too.
    But sometimes the pen slips.
Or it could also be Squir Squis
I still keep going back to Luis.

If it's France perhaps it's Lyons. I'm not sure it's Frere or Freres but could be.

Thanks for all the help....are there any other references I should look at? Would be nice to determine who made this beautiful piece
