Unfortunately I can help with any information, but at the risk of offending, I am very glad that I am not diabetic - all of that "sweetness" would have put me a coma....................

You know, I really apologize for making that remark ........ it was rude and uncalled for - I can only blame it on the morphine - or old age..............

The movement is a very cheap 30 hour 'insertion movement', a standard that would fit many types of cases, like a modern quartz movement, but unhappily only used in cheap clocks. The garniture looks like the German equivalent of Staffordshire flatback type articles, some inexpensive decoration for a working class mantlepiece, maybe around 8 or 10 shilling in 1900.

The horological value is well nigh non-existent. It's a cheap decorative piece with a certain kitsch appeal but I can't guess what your local market value would be. If you do not get a lot for it you will be sure that you have not sold an undiscovered treasure for nothing. At least it looks to be in pretty good condition.

    Hi Mansons,
That set will put you back on even more meds. My grandmother once visited and found a horrible vase at a sale and gave it to me. She thought it was unusual and I had to agree only it was also HORRIBLE. After she left I packed it away. A year or so later I threw it on to the trash. Someone must have "picked" it and sold it to a shop. Skipping ahead a year later Grandma was staying over the night she was sailing on a cruise in the morning and espied the vase in the window. She got all excited and of course bought it for me because it matched mine. She was so proud.
When she died I went after that vase with a frenzy. The nine million pieces where dumped off the Staten Island Ferry midway.:oops::oops::oops:

Post the pictures and details on the board, preferably as a new thread. Put it under 'Antique discussionn since there is no special place for clocks.
