Can someone help me identify

I have this older antique looking Helmers mfg tag cabinet tag also says griffon and blanton I was thinking of stripping it but don't want to mess things up if it turns out that it may be worth something. It came from an old farm in North Carolina. I know very little about antiques. Please help.

I wonder if the other name is from a business. While a variation on the names you mention there is a Blanton & Griffin Insurance Agency.
