    Hello everyone
I have joined this to learn more about pottery ceramics etc by reading your posts.
It's nothing spectacular or overly valuable but I am a fan of Crown Lynn in New Zealand. The lot I have were more functional than intricately designed but were (are!) durable and suit the simple lifestyle here in New Zealand.

I recently found these Wood & Sons side plates and was wondering if you could help me as the internet hasn't provided much info.

    - When would these have been made
    - Why are they matte? They have lost their shine, or did they not have shine?

Any information would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you

They were made sometime after dishwashers became common. With something that "new" the date doesn't matter. I think they were matte to begin with. Just look at all the Salamanca photos on ebay.

Does not say microwave safe so pre what? 1980?

I would guess 1970s. Brown color, and that type of design was popular.
I agree with Janet, the matte finish was original. That too was popular in the 1970s.
