Hi! I have this captains chair at home, have had a Google but can't find out the maker from the logo, any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks

If searching google use the term swivel or office chair - this is not properly a captain's chair (which is more often made for dining, etc). Sorry, I don't recognize the trademark!

Early 20th century oak office chair. Being in the US, I am not familiar with your maker. We have several British members here. Perhaps one of them will know. However, it usually doesn't matter much what company makes furniture. Only a very few firm's goods are sought after and bring a premium. It needs to be evaluated based on form and condition. Your chair stacks up nicely in both. It did probably have wheels originally.

I don't think it's oak, brad, I think it's elm or beechwood. And most probably the latter. The grain and colour are all wrong for English oak. Label loks familiar let me go think.

I know that English oak does look different for the most part but there is always a lot of variety in oak graining. I could buy that this is ash. I don't know if it is used much over there but it does show up here quite a bit. Doesn't look like elm to me color-wise but could be stained. Even stained, elm tends to be more grey and wider grained. Seems to me to be too grainy to be beech.

Ash isn't that common here. I've Ercol furniture which is beech and elm, and it does look like one of those. Beech is quite common on more mass market stuff like this.
