komo, yes, the silver one isn't costume. ;) I suspect the gold bits are gold wash. And that is indeed a Celtic plaid brooch. It's big, too.

Ruth, I think that other bracelet is lovely. It's small, which makes me think 1930s. Not a mark on it. A definite keeper, and I do hope the woman calls me!

Note also that surely a great many of us are vintage hunters but probably very few, if any, are truly antique.

This is a re-find. It's been in a plastic baggie sitting in my piles of junk for a while. Portuguese 800 silver and 20K gold. No idea on the age, but I got it for $30 last winter and promptly forgot I had it...dunno how I did that. DSCF3310.JPG

Very few listings up and no picking since my last post.

It has been an eventful past few days here...

With the extreme drought our State is having (worst in now 8-years) and the wildfires, animals are thirsty. A week ago I caught squirrels gnawing on the white plastic pipes where the water comes out of the AC unit .. they are thirsty and desperate for water. Long story short - several more days of squirrel sightings, (they tend to come in the AM at dawn and at then at dusk here). One night I felt I was going to be attacked -- 8-10 squirrels charging through the trees towards the house and I was trying to shoo them back... they sat in the tree squealing and screaming at me. It was actually quite scary. The squirrels version of 'The Birds'. Bought this stuff, which is the most awful smelling stuff you can possibly imagine (3-days to get out of my nose and mouth), but seems to help to some degree:

And we also had an issue with the heating/AC two days where when I turned it off (it gets too hot for my migraines), it for the first time blew out all the power to the house. The landlord sent someone to help quickly, but unfortunately, they overlooked the simple problem and we spent the night with our doggie in a hotel. The doggie and I sat here in the cold waiting for the no-show electrician the first day. Ugh.

Next day is was fixed and resolved as I honestly expected within literally 4-minutes or less. What is very strange is now it has changed the entire way our heating and AC blows out (used to be very forceful and annoying and sometimes good (AC good for me, heat no). Now it is faint and I guess like a normal machine. So strange. I don't understand how it can change how the system blows/works. Everyone tells me it is fine.. but I don't know.

And that has been my story the past several days. And in the midst of no electricity, I've had orders and have had to package in the dark by flashlight, run to my spouses office and print labels off his computer, etc. I did the same thing when we had a house fire two years ago (scary). No delay in shipping out the orders! :joyful:

The only slightly happy thing about my life this day, my new entry hall table, victorian mahogany, now re-shellac-ed and all:

DSCF3346.JPG Yesterday's haul, and the tie clip that's been riding around on my tag saling jacket. Sterling and ??? earrings, gold-filled circle pin awaiting messing with, some striped rhinestones I don't know the name of, and a tie clip in the shape of a Coasties icebreaker. My jacket has the Coast Guard logo on it, so the tie clip clipped on and there it stayed.

The little tin van is quite new, but I do think they're cute. Someone had it sent as a gift - maybe it was a boardie!

"Brad - Did you see these on Worthpoint?"

I did see those but didn't see what they sold for. Bit disappointing price. I bought these after seeing this pair that sold for $120.00.

Just found these while looking for the above. Were on ebay but long gone so can't find what they sold for.
