What material is this?

Just for curiosity sake, I'm wondering what this is....it's strange to me.

I thought the black was bakelite, but it doesn't test as such. It's like a cross section of some material, but what? It's just odd to me.

The backs are gold filled.

 

It looks like die leakage from an extruder or injection molding machine. Maybe PTR, possibly ABS.
