These are probably my best find of late. Etched glass block art deco bookends. 5" square and heavy as heck. I can find others that are similar with different etched patterns but few have any attribution. Paid more for these than I usually do for most things. They were at a shop in a nearby town that is going out of business and having a half price sale.

Did find this single that is similar but doesn't seem of the same quality. It is signed HHT Co. Was from a US seller on ebay but found on ebayAU. It does not seem to be available on the US site any longer .....

Sagittarius and Capricorn? Or maybe Aries the Ram?

And I had not looked at your link before typing that!;)

Had not considered these zodiac but certainly see how they could be. The hunter and prey is a typical art deco design motif. Also, the others I found were clearly unrelated to the zodiac.

Someone at a car boot sale yesterday was decluttering her costume jewellery collection. I am weak and gave in. (She's got my card, too!)

    A couple of bits:

The bracelet is marked Mexico 925. It's very fine and it fits. Oops. Brooch is only costume, but REALLY heavy and well made.

I don't consider the bracelet costume !! :hungry:
    Is that trim gold ?

The brooch is Scottish Celtic scarf pin...right?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I also thought Sagittarius and Aries when I saw them. Maybe the series was broader than that, with some zodiac and some not?

An old find, but just getting around to posting it. Never seen one like it. You can turn on the night light and see inside the forest is painted with a woodpecker. Any ideas on maker or time period made? Thought maybe a Holland Mold, but no marks anywhere. P1110479.JPG P1110480.JPG

Thanks Bakersgma. I like the little woodland creatures around and in it.

[off topic, re: "Support the right to bear knowledge!" Ever been to NABC.com?]

I'm afraid I don't know what NABC.com is. I got it from my local NPR station - they were giving away "thank you gifts" for donations back in October that featured the saying.

    [Sorry, Bakersgma,
that should be Bear.org--covers the NABC-North American Bear Center]

Edited: Oh, I thought maybe you were a fan of the bears of the animal variety.

I see! Most who have commented thought the same, probably because I added the bear smiley as misdirection. ;)

    Thanks KOT!

Bakers: That would be a great motto for them, since they advocate changing misconceptions
of the true nature of bears, especially black bears.
