Well, that was the first thing that came to my mind when I first saw them but I found out they are known as Mustard Seed Earrings from I think the 50's.

Anyways, Mustard Seeds had a special meaning which I will not go into here. I think these earrings are made with lucite and from the 1950's.

Am I correct about lucite and the 1950's? Also, are these real Mustard Seeds in the lucite?

    Thanks!

I can't say whether they are real mustard seeds or not, but here is another pair of mustard seed in lucite domes screwback earrings by Coro. They are not drop ones like yours. The seller is dating them c1960s.
Scroll a good 2/3rds of the way down the page to the "Earrings" section. It is the first under this section.

Be nice if they could move mountains. :)

    Edit:
Here is an article on mustard seed jewelry. It mentions Coro mustard seed jewelry. As the article mentions no substitute for the mustard seed, I suspect those are real mustard seeds.

Susan, thanks for the info and links! The mustard seed article is very interesting, who would have thought there was such a thing as mustard seed jewelry? I recall seeing seed like pieces in clear dome jewelry before but never realized what it was.

This was hugely popular in the 50s-60s. I still have some items, a bracelet and a pendant and I think a pair of earrings, that belonged to my mother. Haven't seen them in years and had forgotten about them. It seemed like everyone had at least one piece of mustard-seed jewelry back then.

Some (if not all) of these items came with a little card with the Bible verse:
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
