Featured Grandma's Treasure

Does anyone know what this is? Can you tell me anything about it? I found it at my Grandma's house. It is beautiful.

 

Lookslike a Chinese cloisonne pot, possibly an incense burner, possibly from the Canton region, possibly a tourist souvenir from Hong Kong.

I agree probably China, a pot shape incense burner - cloisonné enamel with white, red and blue lotus flowers. Here is a link to the Incense-Burner Virtual Museum website. If you enter "cloisonné" in the "Search" engine at the top of the left hand column, it will come up with the cloisonné ones they have listed. They didn't have one identical to yours, but will give you an idea of them. As to age, I haven't a clue, but a tourist souvenir would not surprise me.

Just an aside, saying "Grandma's house" certainly is no help for the old folks onboard and probably for no one. If I found something in my grandparent's house it could date from the early 1900s when they were married to the 1950s. If our daughter found something in her grandparent's house, it could date from the 1930s' when they married to the 1990s. If my daughter's children found something in their grandparent's (me) house , it could date from the 1960s when we married to today. It might help a bit to include the dates of the grandparents. Also include when it was found like yesterday or 30 years ago. Always include dimensions of an item one wants IDed.

 

I don't think this is Chinese cloisonne. I think Japanese turn of the century. Late 1800s - early 1900s.

And just to add on to what Sue said.
It may have come from Grandma's, but could even have been her mother's.
