Hello, everybody! I have been searching for a forum that deals with antiques because my wife recently inherited the estate of an elderly cousin. There were many items in the house which seemed to be very old and of antique interest. There is one item specifically that interests me. I would like to upload an image, but I don't know how. When I attempted to upload, I found that my image was too large and I don't know how to reduce it. Any advice would be appreciated.

The item appears to be a Russian religious icon. When I finally am able to upload the image, I will appreciate hearing from someone knowledgeable in that field.

As I learn to upload, I will display other items from the house. Some are quite interesting.

Thanks for allowing me to participate.

    Dean

Welcome, Dean! The limitation on file size for upload is 1MB. If you can find a way to adjust the pixel dimensions, try 600 x 800. That should be within the upload limit and still give us good sized photos.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Welcome, Dean --

What is the size of this item? Just wondering whether it's a wall plaque, or a platter, or a decorative plaque of some other sort... or if small enough with a pin on the back, a piece of jewelry? Can you show the back? Any marks?

As Any Jewelry discovered, this is based on something by Fra Angelico, a well-known painter of the early Italian Renaissance. He lived 1395-1455.
