I've never saw another. I was told it was custom made for a 1968 Cadillac auto show. Seems plausible but not idea if true or not. It's a rain/oil lamp. Very large 8 foot tall drips mineral oil. Comments or insight appreciate. 20161111_205055-1209x1612.jpg

Id believe that person, that or a dealership. That has such a "look" of the 60s to it,I could see many different kinds of collectors wanting it.

Video didn't turn out great I'll have to try again but you get the point.

A custom order seems plausible for sure. Never seen an oil lamp of that size remotely similar. I agree that there would be collectors interested. It's really something!

My sister had one of the Grecian lady hanging lamps a few years back that her MIL had given to them. Kathy absolutely detested the thing & I am sure gave to GW or sold it at a GS for $2.00 as soon as she could. I wish I had told her to send it my way whenever she could safely send it on its way.:oops:

I have 8 other rain lamps which my wife also hates but this one is my favorite.

    Hi,
You should have lived in Brooklyn in the 1970s just about every house you went into had them. Some played music while the mineral oil slid down those strings.

Pretty sure mine has some type of music box in the bottom.

Me too. I think the price as quoted might be a bit low if it goes into a sale where car guys can find it. Something tells me the OP isn't too interested in selling however.
