I would expect a lamb, not a stag in the scene if Agnes.

Nope, it's not mine, just an eBoo listing that I'm attracted to. :)

That features in a lot of European fairy tales as well, which is probably where Mark Twain got it from.

Thought 'going back to look at it' meant going to a B&M store. My apologies if you felt your photographic abilities were maligned. :)

I would like to state that at the time I was grousing about the photos, I knew the photos were not the work of @bluumz . :joyful:

If I thought they were @bluumz photos, I would have just asked for more pictures of everything.

    No offense taken, whatsoever.
And the photos I do take usually aren't the greatest, either!

I totally would have asked you for more pics. :p

I'd happily have this piece hanging in my house. Except for the fact that I live in Florida in a house with big windows and that would mean its utter destruction. :dead:

FYI, when doing some checking on Upper Rhenish tapestries, I ran across a fascinating paper. I haven't finished reading it, but so far I find it easy to read and quite interesting.

For anyone wanting to skim through, lots of ancient tapestry eye candy. :woot:

"Exploring early European tapestries and their relevance to contemporary practice

Dr Christine Freeth, a tapestry weaver from Saltaire, travelled to Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland and the USA to find out about early European tapestries and their relevance to contemporary practice."

The man on the right is a dagger I think possibly. The one in the middle has a sword. And the man on the left I think possibly is holding a tied twitch. Looks like Tudor roses on two of the male headdress. Maybe the dandelion is a thistle and a stag on top. Maybe Mary Queen of Scots and the writing is old Gaelic? Anyway, I agree it’s not happy. Possibly a cross on the ladies neck in the middle.

Is that a shield in the center under the banner? Can anyone identify it?

She's wearing a crown as well. Arthur and Guinevere?

Somewhere I have an antique German dictionary. A friend told me he could barely read it because it's like Old English is. Maybe I could see if any of the words look familiar.
