Welcome! How long is the chain and what does the clasp look like? Would you post a photograph showing both?

Surprised pendant is double-sided. The fleur-de-lis is a French symbol, of course, but I would think designs on front and back -- a medal and a coat of arms -- were both fantasies. Early 1960s to my eye. But let's wait to see what others think.

Agree with you on the "fantasy" aspect. We looked for it everywhere and couldn't find anything. Thought it might be a fraternal organization too, but still nothing. Thanks again for your input.

This is what I've always called "mock heraldic" jewelry; it's made to look like a coat of arms, but not a real one. It was everywhere for a few years.

Thank you. Was that in the 60s as Debora suggested?

The French fleur-de-lis is gold on blue. It is based on the old Frankish lily.
The fleur-de-lis is used in many parts of Europe, especially those with a Frankish history. Among them the Low Countries.;)
I have never seen a white fleur-de-lis on a black background, and agree, fantasy or mock heraldic is likely.

8 inches it no where big enough to go around an adult woman's neck. Bracelet instead?

Sorry I measured the chain length only one way. It's actually 16 inches. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Ah. That makes more sense.
