Girls face in stone by who ?

Think it's stone but could be wrong off course . There's hole's as it looks drilled in it ?

Anybody any idea who or where made and when ? It's heavy also but have not found any mark on it and not even lines from if was poured in a form ?

 

It looks to me like it was done in clay, then fired; or possibly cast from a clay original, rather than being carved.
The hair in particular looks like fired clay sculptures my Mom used to make.

 

I like it. Could she be african-american ?

Delicate, vulnerable face... oooh, I wish the eyes were open.

 

But is there not any known artist making faces like this ? Got the seen somewhere more in my head but can't place it in my older brain
