Is this a print of an etching or a print from a photograph made to look like an etching? The image is of Queen Victoria on her Golden Jubilee in 1887. Is this from that time or a later reproduction. I found this inside the back of a frame that contained a different print. It's in rough shape but it peaked my curiosity. Thank you.

That's definitely an old print. The paper is a dead giveaway, and in any case most printers wouldn't reproduce a picture of an old lady - even that old lady.:)

    016.JPG Hi,
I had to laugh. I have the same photograph of Victoria hanging on my wall. I bought it many years ago. The owner said he has Albert somewhere in the shop in the matching frame. I was traveling through Vermont on my way to Canada. I said I will stop back in a weeks time. I stopped back but the owner had died and the store was shuttered. I never got Albert. but when I was cleaning up the picture of Victoria I found out it was from a newspaper.

    Hi,
Forgot to say that the print was larger than the frame, they did not cut it but just folded it down. Yours is cut off after the copyright secured. Mine has the newspaper name and date under the copyright. I will look to see were I have it written down. The image showing is 15½"by 19½"

lol @evelyb30! Thank you for the link Gila. Gregg, I'm surprised it was from a newspaper, but now it makes sense why it confused me.

I seem to be finding more interesting things behind the prints and art work that were in the frames. I keep hoping to find some money but it hasn't happened yet.

    Hi Mill Cove,
I have found all kinds of things behind frames. The best was a 1927 Fifty dollar bill!! I have found five and tens but the old fifty was wonderful. Found movie posters that were used as filling. Two of them were films that no one even knew that they were made. The Film Institute paid 300 bucks apiece for those. I found a Greta Garbo film poster that brought 125 dollars. Old frames are on my favorite list. Good hunting!!!!!
