    Welcome to the forum!!! :happy::happy::happy:

    A very nice cameo.

    A photo of the back might be very helpful. The construction of the pin can give clues to the age of the piece. Are there any marks that you can see?

    Like Cheryl said "Cameo habille." This style started c1900 becoming popular after WWI when the diamond industry was looking for a new way to market diamonds, hence on cameos that had been popular for centuries. The hair style and nose suggests the early 1900s to possibly the 1920s. You will probably never find one exactly like yours for they were carved. Here are Google images of many.

    Hi Kirbi, nice cameo. Is there a mark on the metal?

    When you post a photo it would be nice if you could choose "Full Image" so the photo is larger, like this:

    I think its later,possibly 50s-60s before cameos completely died as a fashion staple.

    And a bit odd in design - note how the necklace goes "over" her hair instead of "under"??

    Hi Johnny,
    The 50s started the ponytail cameos with pointed noses and that was the end.

    They're still made, but they don't look the same. The "ponytail girl" ones are all costume, molded plastic. You'll also find "German headband girl", so-called because she has a ribbon in her hair and the originals of the design were made in Germany.

    If it was a Lady Gaga CD...then yes.
    A hand carved work of art ....no.
    But as you've been shown ...there are numerous others out there.....same style same era.....same as yours.

    This is a Camée Habillé (adorned cameo). Hold it up to the light and look for hairline cracks (striations)as a major condition element. Carved of inexpensive, plentiful Mediterranean conch shell, a woman's profile is a traditional subject. This was likely carved by a relatively new cameo carver, since the technique is crudely executed. Cameos were typical souvenirs of "the Grand Tour" many young women made before getting married. The Gibson girl type of hairstyle and relatively straight nose make it likely 1890-1920, though it's impossible to tell without seeing the back. The pin construction will be the determining factor in age.

    Other common designs are the Medusa cameo, Rebecca at the Well, and the Three Graces. If you luck out sometimes you'll find something else.

    OP, can you get a better photo of the back, please? The one you posted is too blurry to be of much help.
    So far, I am inclined to think mid-century.
    As someone else mentioned, your cameo is not very finely carved but it is, nonetheless, beautiful. :)
