Hi there! A while ago my girlfriend found this chair, her school (Flagler College in St. Augustine) was clearing out some of the old rooms. Tonight we found a couch sitting near the dumpster which matches the chair exactly. We can't find anything online and I'm not sure how to go about identifying it. It looks authentic but, honestly, neither of us have much experience with furniture. My girlfriend loves antiques, she collects phonographs and 78s, and she would love to keep this pair. However, from what I can gather, restoring antique furniture is a very costly endeavor. I would hate to see these thrown out- even if they aren't authentic, I do still find them beautiful. Neither had cushions when we found them.

I included some pictures of the wood as well.

Very 1960s french Provincial. I had a green one just like it .Not to be a downer, but recovering those would be hideously expensive. Its great seeing young people interested in antiques. :)

Thank you! Very interesting to know it could be French. Any ideas on how much it would be worth in this condition? If it's going to be expensive to recover, I would rather see it in the hands of someone who could restore it properly.

We didn't see any cushions but the couch had a lot of cushion stuffing on it, so unfortunately I think the cushions were likely destroyed.

I had a similar set, can't remember if it was Broyhill or Bassett. I know mine was made by one of the two.

Welcome, Candidcanine! Just to clarify, when Johnny said "French Provincial" he was referring to a style and not to a location of manufacture.
