Introduction

Pensioner, interested in antiques, hobbyist, hobbies:- clock and watch repairs, mainly interested in pocket watches and clocks,
Please can anyone identify the following photo, the only thing I could think of is something to do with buttons but find that improbable with the measurements engraved, it is approx 2" (50mm) long 1" (25.4mm) wide and 1/4" (6mm) thick.

Well I dont know why, but this was my first on this site. I hope I have done it right this time.

 

Based on the thousands listed and the steps this is a shim for something. Possibly a tool.
