Since growing up with a mother who had a small antique shop, and traveling with her to antique fairs and sales in the uk, I have always loved the treasure hunt of finding something special. I have recently started doing more treasure hunting via the net and online auctions here in Israel (where i live now). It's more about the hunt, and the learning experience for me. I like to find something online - i live miles away from any town or shops- just because my eye is drawn to it, and then research it to see if my instincts are right or way off!
My best find so far is a pair of silver duckling candlestick holders that were made by Barry Kieselstein Cord - Not that i have had them valued but i believe they are a pair from a specially designed gift by him to to the designer Perry Ellis. And a box of Millenary silk flower molds .

Welcome - we always welcome new faces and new perspectives. And this is a great place for both!

Barry Kieselstein Cord has a following, mostly his handbags (or the dangles he puts ON handbags) but I am not familiar with his gift ware - those are NICE.

Glad you found us, and if you don't mind telling, HOW did you find us?

    i h
thank you for your warm welcome!
i found this forum because i have been trying to find more information on a Gorham frame that brought on a whim. I can't find any thing similar on line, and it's driving me crazy not knowing anything about it! lol. It's sitting next to my computer and each day I try to find info on it. And today, is my lucky day - as I have found this forum! its great that is all antiques and not just specialized subject.

The ducks - if I believe everything that is written in Wikipedia- "As a thank-you (for Ellis using BKC jewerly etc in his fashion shows) Kieselstein-Cord designed and produced a unique set of sterling silver baby duck candlesticks to run the length of Ellis' dining room table" . Not sure what to do with them - but they make me happy thinking that i might have brought a bargin!

    Greetings, Judith! :)
Great candlesticks ... and that little frame you've posted in another thread is quite intriguing (unfortunately, I can't help you with it ... but am following it for educational purposes)
