    The first is a blue & white saucer 5" dia x 1-1/8" high, no internal rim with a shallow scalloping around the rim. I think it might be Pearlware- the glaze has a faint blue tinge and there are small pits in it. The design is of a "Chinoiserie" type- stylised Chinese scene with flowers, all handpainted. There are no marks on the base. I'm assuming this is European rather than Chinese in origin.

    The second is possibly a shallow bowl rather than a saucer 5-1/2" dia x 1-1/4 deep. The pottery is thick and heavy with a thick white glaze. The decoration is of a foxhunting scene, hand painted, with enamelling to the horse and hound. On the base is what appears to be a hand-painted 47 inside a circle.

    Any suggestions as to what these might be would be welcome.

    We will need to see photos of the items to be able to give you any information. A photo of the bottom is usually a necessity even if there are no marks. A lot can be gathered from the bottom of pieces such as the color of the clay used to make the piece, signs of use or wear & sometimes even the shape of the piece.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!! :happy::happy:

    Hi - Question: On the plate with the hunting scene, is there a signature just below the distant rider (with the whip)? It's made to look like one of the patches of coarse grass & next to what looks like a name there is 4767... I think. Might help identify the maker of the plate if it's the artists name. :)
