    I have this copper Arts & Crafts ashtray.
    Marked on the bottom as pictured.
    Can anyone ID the maker's mark?
    Appears to be etched with the date 4/21 also a&c.jpg a&c2.jpg

    Thank You

    FWIW, I don't necessarily disagree with the attribution but don't find it to be definitive. I can find no other examples of your piece. Neither can I find this exact configuration of matchbox holder or flower pattern among Heintz's products.

    Thanks for the info. It's more than I had a few minutes ago! We'll see what others possibly have to say.

    verybrad;
    I did some more research based on what you had, and yes, it is Heintz! The sterling over copper or bronze is common with Heintz, and I found another Heintz piece that had the same 'four leaf clover' (almost) mark along with the Heintz logo. heintz.jpg

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Under the link Brad posted they called this a "pipe knocker." A new term, to me. I love to learn things here.
