Hound dog?

 

The way the dog is drawn reminds me of "Pluto" (a Walt Disney cartoon dog). I "think" that the dog "Pluto" in the Disney cartoons/films was (supposed to be) a bloodhound.

I don't know why your dog is done in a "blue" material though. Maybe he's supposed to represent a "blue-blood hound."

Pluto - I knew the shape looked familiar, but I couldn't figure out what (or who) it resembled!

 

Some online sites say that Pluto started as a bloodhound, but later was said to be a mixed-breed dog (mutt). That being said, I think the dog on your pin is some kind of hound. Looks more like a coonhound than a bloodhound to me, but could be either. It might just be a generic hound, not intended to be a particular breed.

 

Well the auction for the little guy is ending tonight, so we'll see how it rounds out...

The initial bidder placed a bid right at the beginning, so I was hoping that would spark interest, but it hasn't so far. I had several watchers at one point, but it seems like I am down to only three now.
