    We'll see what it brings tomorrow PM. I'm in Marlboro MA for the auction. I think the item will meet or exceed the estimate and I don't think I'm ready to put that much dough into that item. I have a few in brass with steel points, a British 18thC., an American 19th C, but all the brass ones seem to sell in the low 4 figs. No others in wood are known, and apparently no other military instruments by Lamb are known. Might even double the estimate for all I know.

    Auctioneer started the bidding at my final bid number I'd written down, so I had no chance. Hammer dropped at $21K, and add the 23% buyers fee!
