Necklace enhancer? (Where you just hang it over whatever necklace you're currently wearing).

    IDK, just a WAG.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Money clip, necklace enhancer, or just collar enhancer... but since it's a bulldog... I don't see it on a woman (or am I being sexist?), so I think I'll vote money clip or something else manly. :)

The critter reminds me of the Mac Bulldog, but I can not recall ever seeing him sit in that position.

My eye sight is not quite what it used to be, but are you sure that this is "original" and not cobbled together? Something about the elements doesn't look "right".

NOTE: I discounted enhancer because most of the ones I have worked with (admittedly contemporary) have some sort of clasp that secures it "on" the necklace.

BBM. I thought about that too...it does look more like something a man would wear rather than a lady.

All the enhancers I've ever seen are just a hook that hang on the necklace rather than a clasp.

And now darned if I can find an example; all the ones I'm finding on ebay do have a clasp or a closed loop.

ETA: Maybe I just dreamed up what I was thinking because I cannot find a single one that just hooks over and isn't closed in some fashion.

You all are sooooo fabulous, thanks for the help Mansons, Gila & Tiedyecat!! I too think money clip has to be the closest thing, right??!!
Mansons, I was wondering if anything had been changed or altered on it too, but it all seems "right" when in person. I'm pretty sure nothing has been changed on it, but of course I could always be wrong.
Going to look at the the Mac bulldog now.....
    Thanks again:)

The "clip" part appears to have been a salt spoon for whatever reason.

It might have been designed to hang on a purse too; it's not clippy enough, if such a word exists, to be a money clip.

If you have a wad of bills, folded in the center, with the thicker fold in the "wider" part of the clip it works just fine. I have a score of them.................someplace. But even if I fined them and the camera has "juice", the photos would be pointless as I have no bills to show how it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woot::woot::woot:

I know how they work; I've used enough bobby pins and clothes pins.

This clip, btw, is a newer piece made sort of to look old. Why they used a demi-tasse or salt spoon design to form the back hook is unknown.

Thank you Mansons, Evelyb & Hollyblue! I appreciate all the help.
Oddly enough, when doing this google search, I see many money clips made from silverware...

The hook part does, somewhat easily, raise and lower when pulled or pushed.
My teenage son said it's to hook onto a belt. I said "why would anyone put that on their belt?" he said "why would anyone put that on anything, it's ugly":dead::hilarious:

I was thinking belt clip too ! Sometimes the belt loops on pants arent quite spaced evenly, and your belt end has a tendency to pop out.

While it looks like a re-purposed spoon, I think it was purpose made for this type of piece, if not this exact piece.

Hmmm, I guess he's not "Handsome Dan" because there is no "Y" showing (except for a possible discreet "Y" on his upper chest).;)
