Oversize Nodder Dog German Shepard any idea the maker

Local Antique store has this for sale, about 3 feet long, any one know anything about the maker? Tried to find info on the net but nothing this large. Thanks Steve

No, not felt, I think it is that 1960s suedey type stuff they put on plaster souvenirs.

And I agree, the price is rather high.

They call that "flocking" - I worked in a silkscreen outfit in the 70's and we used that stuff ..it gets *everywhere* if you aren't careful!

 

Yes it is flocked, has glass eyes about 1/3 of the size of a real GS

Well he's not Rin Tin Tin or Bullet. When I looked up pictures, neither dog is ever shown wearing a collar.

Flocking - yes I knew that, but could the brain pull that word out so I could look somewhat intelligent? No.

 

This nodding dog should be in the rear window of a Mack or Kenworth truck

 

But kinda looks like he's been..............shot.....................

He is littler but resembles yours the most, thus far.

 

Do think you may have found it. 1960s as well.

 

It could be possible that OP was the display model for the smaller ones? I have not found a shepard that looked like Sd's except for this one, made in Germany.

 

If you put in 1960s German flocked nodders, quite a few show up.
I didn't investigate any of them so don't know if any are big like the OP's.
