@James Conrad That would be from the 1700s and they don't look quite that old to me.

Some of our furniture people don't venture out of the furniture forum. Would have been better to put there...

Yeah, impossible to tell with just this these 2 photographs. Agree they don't match, the chair on the right is different.
They are early 18th century ladder/slat back style, i doubt they are period. More likely 19th-20th century reproductions.
I would add, you can buy handmade chairs built by Master Chairmakers, built just like in the old days, very fine chairs but, they will cost you.
For 1 thing, to have 5 chairs (leaving odd duck on right out of discussion) that match would be very rare.
Also the ball feet, they do not look like 3 centuries of wear, not even close.
Daniel, you are in Arizona? Where online did you see them, what did description say? It would be very helpful if you give all info you have on hand in 1st post.

BINGO! That would be me, although i do venture out sometimes when something on home page catches my eye on way to furniture forum. It's rare but, it does happen!:p

Another problem with them being early 18th century, say 1700-1740 is, they are all side chairs, not arm chairs.
That didn't happen back then, they would be armchairs and only Dad would be allowed to sit in it, women & kids sat on stools.

If they were period, they would look like this

LOL, Yeah, comfort was not the name of the game back in the day, survival was.
Slightly different today, where some are "triggered" by a rise in avocado prices, some of us have become weak & soft.
