Although no one has invited me, I have signed up here and hope nobody minds. :angelic:

I’ve been on the eBay boards since the late 1990’s under a couple of different names. I’ve been using SBSVC and one other (though for a completely different category) since 2006, although a bazillion of my posts disappeared when the boards changed over to Lithium (and nope – they’re not in the “archived” threads now, either…)

I used to concentrate on silver, but over the last few years, I’ve been posting on collectibles, vintage, fine jewelry, art, and a few other boards, as well. The lack of an ignore feature just about did me in on Antiques – although I continued to read everything, I rarely commented anymore.

In about 2 weeks, DH & I should be about finished packing and ready for our move (scheduled for 6/18-19) from CT to NH. We have cleared out truckloads – mostly to local charities – and I know we are still moving way too much. It’s been a monumental task, and I hope I’ll never have to do it again.

I’ve been browsing the forums lately more as a bit of relief from the labors of sorting and packing than anything else. On one of the boards, I saw someone’s great “find” posted, along with a comment to the effect that “people just don’t know what they’re giving away!” I checked that poster’s location, and I am 99.9% sure that her “find” came from me – and I know where she “found” it! I wanted to say, “Yes, some people DO know what they’re giving away,” but I thought that might be too snarky. Either way, I’m happy that a new owner or two might appreciate some of my downsizing.

I’m thrilled to see lots of familiar names here, and I thank everyone involved in getting this site going again.

    All the best,
    -C-

    silverthwaite finally made it. Huzzah!

I love that you are willing to tell people what to do with their items. So like you. It cheers me no end that you are here. This is going to be a good thing.

For anyone who has recently joined us and hasn't been banned for a few days - please invite any of the GOOD guys on the boards. We need some Potties & Glassies and Artiste types as well as Joolies and others. You cannot contact people when you are on the Boards or the Evil Lithium Empire will get you. No joke. They monitor those conversations.

You must click on someone's feedback. There will be a Contact Seller option on the right side. When you click on that, click the box that says "Not About an Item" and continue. Then you can message them without being spied upon. I've invited many that way. Now that I'm over my 3 day "pink slap" vacation, I can go back and invite a few more. ONLY FOLKS WE KNOW AND LOVE, please.

The Jewelry forum has started a Group, which is what Ebay is pushing the Boardies to do. The problem with that is you have to ask to join and be accepted to post. The ability of the general public to post a question and have answers is going to be lost. Stupid.

I just know that everyone's been waiting for this ID to appear. Now everyone together say, "he's on an echo trip."

Plus evidently the eBay rules (and the interpretation of those rules) that applied to AB will apply to Groups as well. And most of us know how well that works....

    Hi ,
Happy to be here as I navigate the new space.
Although I quit selling on ebay in 2007, I still buy occasionally, and hung around in Art and Artists, PGP, and sometimes Antiques. My id was morris_pottery.
Hubby and I have been making and selling pottery for 32 years.
I started collecting old tins as a kid, who had to accompany mom on her trips to antique shops. I still collect thrift store oil paintings and crafts, and studio pottery (anything with the mark of handmade) eta- which sometimes includes our own stuff ..
I so appreciate the information sharing , and try to help when I can.

    Hello -

Very much enjoy this forum atmosphere. While I asked for help on the eBay boards periodically, due to the challenges that certain..er, members posed, I often didn't partake in conversations and just lurked. Wait - don't trolls lurk? Egaads.

Anyways, my name is Cory aka FunkeysFinds (which I don't think I ever posted on one eBay forum) and have already participated here more than I ever did there. I was raised in a collecting family - as a child, my parents took me to garage sales, thrift stores, auctions, etc. Our family vacations were planned around metal detecting and figuring out where we could go bottle digging in old garbage dumps (something I do miss greatly since my mom passed away - she was my pal for that). When I was in Junior High I worked in my first antique store cleaning the cases and other items, then worked in another store in High School. It took some convincing, but they could see how much I loved the items.

I have slowed down on what I personally collect, but enjoy Holt Howard Pixieware, Bauer Ringware, Antique tin advertising spice tins and in the past few years have spent more time and money expanding my Vintage and Antique Pottery collection; Pewabic, Cowan, North Dakota Mines, etc.

Unfortunately I am a chronic pain/migraine sufferer and my spouse and I decided that it was best for me to work on my internet stores from home.

I have four stores - eBay, Etsy, Amazon and Discogs (music only site) and space in an antique mall.

Hello, my name is Bridget. I grew up with a flea marketing Mom who tends to hoard a bit lol. Was always a hunter for things! Around 13 years ago a friend game me a little reference book on EAPG glass, not long after I found a large set of beautiful EAPG goblets at a local annual flea market. I researched them and sold them for an AMAZING profit!! I WAS HOOKED!! I Lived on the pgp board for years and learned so much. I'm a bit addicted to researching aspect of it all. I have acquired an enormous amount of reference books and I have ACTUALLY read ALL of them, more then once lol. Ive been through the glass phase, barbie/doll phase, silver phase, bottles, jewelry, collectibles, mid Century etc... The past few years I have been rejuvenating/restoring furniture. I still keep my eye out for goodies though!!

Hi everyone. So glad to be able to come here!

I was an occasional poster on the antiques board...mostly a lurker trying to learn. It's so nice to have a new place to come to without lithium and without the resident troll of the antiques board!

I sell a little bit of everything, so far it's mostly low range $$ items. I haven't figured out what my niche is yet. I love asian items (especially porcelain), but there really isn't much in the way of pickings around here in terms of asian things. I am currently leaning towards selling jewelry.

I have so much to learn!

Oh and a big thank you to Peter and Davey. I recognize Davey from the antiques board, but can someone clue me into who Peter is?
