Yes, me too really, JayBee, I still have my first teddy bear - it's a Steif, and some of my other baby things that my mother gave to me. I have a wooden dog my father carved and gave to me, an oriental "bobble head" lacquer type doll, just some stuff that looks well worn now! :cat:

Thank you Leslie, I put them into storage with the rest. :cat:
I wear my fiance's ring, and a fitbit, daily. All of the people who gave me my beautiful joolz in past years - have died. :(:( :sorry: I don't know what to do with any of it now? My bank gave me a safety deposit box, another member* here recommended that as a safe option, and so when my bank offered me one, I took it.
    (*Thanks, Bronwen)

My mother had cataract surgery and she says it has been an amazing success!.
Your Fiancé would be very happy to know you wear the ring every day. I wear my grandmothers wedding ring and I think she would be very happy. It keeps the memories alive too.

You don't need to do anything with it. Your safety deposit box is now your Memories Box.

Oh KSW, I have done NOTHING towards this end, thank you so much for reminding me to find a doctor to check on my eyes while I can!

Man sees it daily. I keep wondering when he will pop a wedding band on top of it?!! ;) :joyful::joyful:

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS @KSW , this kind thought makes it much more 'personal' to me, perhaps just the touch I needed to accept this change! Thank you. I'm planning to go and look at it, maybe try a piece on and take it off again! ;)

How about writing a note about each piece of jewellery that stays with it in the box?. Why it's important to you and who it came from, then the history and memories aren't gradually lost. Can you put it all in a nice box within the safety deposit box so it's a pleasure to open each time?
Just a few thoughts, you may already have done this @antidiem x

    Hi,
Help with some humor. My first wife's aunt was engaged to her boyfriend for 22 years. They were always together I thought they were married. Her boyfriend finally asked her to marry him. She turned him down and within two months she married a guy. Everyone wanted to know why she was with him for 22 years. She said she wanted to see how long it would take for him to propose.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:. I love Italians!!!!!!!!

That is a great idea, and putting it all into a nice box will be very helpful too! Thank you so much for your thoughtful posts, KSW.

    TOO FUNNY, GREG!!

My parents ran a second hand store. I would come home from school and my bed would be gone or the dining room table. Nothing was sacred in our house. The only childhood treasures I have are a set of Zane Grey and a set of O. Henry that our elderly neighbor gave me when I was eight. My ex took the Zane Grey when he moved out and it took me seven years to get him to send it back!
