    Hi all,
I Found this while digging in Surrey, England but am not exactly sure what it is or its age does anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking makeup of some type. Can't find anything of a similar style on Google yet. It is 4.5cm in length.
    Thanks all image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Yeah, my first thought was a needle case.

Too small for a needle case, but it would hold pills or saccharin tablets well enough. Maybe candied violets, if it's old enough?

Needles is what we tend to think of when we hear the word, but an etui was used to hold things than needles too.

Embroidery needles might fit, depending on the thickness of the ceramic.

I suspect it held violet pastilles, given the decoration. Victorian.

And I've just remembered the proper word for them. Cachoux.
