Hi Gerspee, In looking up Kazimir Malevich, I came upon the below link.....maybe you've already seen it......was very interesting....about authenticating his works. I believe the author[Antonio Cosentino] of the comments below in the article (some of which were very current!) is one of the experts that does the work and sounded willing to help and put individuals in touch with the correct sources in authenticating. Good luck with it. BTW, my art expertise fits on my thumbnail, but I thought your piece intriguing and nice!!!

Thanks and did not know this site so helpful site . Painting as being bought near St.Petersburgh Russia according by the owner I bought it from so or a selling story or the truth and that would be very nice and fitting . The used canvas was always a point I could not find any info about and your site has some information about the canvas used by Malevich during the years . Also done a UV light test and the retroflexion off the lacquer was good as being that age . But the newer acrylic paints now used a lot do the same . So still no answer to the real age off the painting . Did not test the paint on the ingredients to determine what kind off paint it is (yet) :angelic:

Think someone was pulling someone's leg with this one. Not the quality of his work, not his palette, not his signature. And have you ever wondered why a Russian artist wouldn't write "Bach" and "Chopin" in Cyrillic script as he did in his other work?

Malevich has been using K.M as a autograph sometimes but the date 1931 is a bit difficult in this style . But also being probably a copy in the style off Malevich it is a bit stupid to make the mistake off the letters not to be in a Cyrillic style . So still a puzzle and probably always stays like that :phantom:
