Did Thayer Coggin make a "dual" recliner?

A few months back I bought this piece: http://imgur.com/a/4CHxZ

It was in terrible shape, so I had it refinished and reupholstered.

It is a pair of recliners with footrests on a single wood frame. I'm not sure if you would refer to it a "dual" or a "double" or what. The seller said the maker was Thayer Coggin, but I never bothered to verify. It kind of looks like it, except the armrests look different from those on any other Thayer Coggin recliner I've seen.

Has anyone seen one of these before who can speak to its origin?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Antiquers Forums!

Not many people will click a link to see what is being discussed because they don't have time to click every links, it can be hard to click links in messages on phones or/and many are afraid of clicking unknown links. To get the most info on a query, a full image pic(s) needs to be inserted into the query. I have taken the liberty of resizing, cropping and posting a full image of the recliners. Your pic is way too big to post because of its dimensions and weight. I cropped away everything except for the chairs because that is what the query is about.

    Your pic:
    Dimension-wise: 3840pix wide X 2160pix high
    Weight-wise: 573 KB that equals 587,692 bytes

The best size for an image in a message should by around
    Dimension-wise: 650pix wide
    Weight-wise: 500 to 800KB

    The following edited pic is:
    Dimension-wise: 600pix wide X 630pix high
    Weight-wise: 21.6KB that equals 22,198 bytes

Just about any editing program has the tools to crop and resize including the generic Paint program that comes with Windows. There are even a multitude of image editing apps for Smartphone with several of them freebies.

I can't help you on your query. Furniture folks will surely drop by with help for you today or tomorrow.

Here is a recliner with the same arms as yours (albeit not a double recliner) that is said to be by "James Industries ... a subsidiary of Thayer Coggin and they produced this recliner designed by Milo Baughman."

Starts at the 4th pic down. With info above and under pic. The rest of the pics are about repairing/restoring it:

Here is a Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin chair with ottoman. It seems to have the same arms.

    Another with same arms:

Another recliner. Scroll down the page about 1/2 way. It is white with info above the pic and 3 pics of it. Same arms but not a double/dual recliner.

Here is an article of the collaboration between Coggin and Baughman.

    Thanks everyone for your input!

Although there are significant similarities, I think this likely isn't the James Industries recliner pictured in the posts above. For one thing, although it isn't clear from my picture the legs on mine have a different style, which is especially apparent where they meet the armrests. They are round, whereas the ones on these pieces seem to be more like squares with rounded corners. The armrests on mine also don't flare out as much toward the back. and the wooden piece on mine that connects the front and back legs is positioned higher.

I also reached out to Thayer Coggin. They checked their archives and they do not have any record of a piece like this. They think it is neither a Thayer Coggin piece nor a Milo Baughman design.

Since there does not seem to be any label, I really don't know where else to look.

In any case, it is an absolutely beautiful piece, so I suppose I can live with not knowing. :)
