I'm guessing $200 is well under the silver weight, so if all else fails.... you can make it a rarer pattern and drive the price up for the next guy, right?

The goddamn onion was nowhere to be seen when I went back to the flea market today. I'm fairly sure it developed legs and ran for the hills.
All I could find was yet ANOTHER 19th C. transferware plate but I was able to walk away from it. I'm not collecting transferware. I'm not.

Picked up this Lane Acclaim record cabinet in nearly mint condition at the thrift for $10.00. Took it in to the store and it sold within a few hours for $225.00. It is a sought-after piece and not all that common. I , possibly, could have gotten more on-line but I am very happy with the fast turn and not having to ship.

Anund - great find! I found its dirty, older cousin a month or so ago and I'll share pics this week. That sounds much worse then I intend. :wideyed::wideyed:

Marko - love that sheet! I look for vintage sheets, vintage character sheets especially as they can command a high price on e. Yours is so pretty... I would snapped it up. Reminds me of younger days.

Nice score on the furniture Brad! Furniture is the only thing I don't do, mainly because of health issues and the inability to lift and move it without causing more problems. We do have one large name thrift here that you can get really nice vintage and antique furniture 'at the right time' for cheap - like $10-30 a piece. Dressers, tables, etc. Somehow I have 7 lamps in my inventory and I haven't listed one.

My find of the day was a set of new silicone spatulas, vintage last week, but they're nice ones and mine aren't in the best shape.

Found a couple of Baccarat sulfide portrait bottles this morning, the tall one is George Heriot, who is the other guy?

I don't think that's George. The nose is wrong, for starters.

I thought it was Geo. Washington when I found it and it sure looks the same as in the link cxgirl posted.

I wasn't sure but the hair is the same. I'll have a look in my sulphide book when I get home and see if anything is in there.
    From the link -
This specific sulphide of George Washington is one of two known to the author.
it might be worth contacting them to ask about your piece
I've never seen bottles with them before, they look very nice.
I have a couple of sulphide marbles with animals in them somewhere:)

Last week I was walking past a stall for the second time, when I noticed an old copper pan half hidden at the back. I looked at it and asked the price 4 euros. It is a small antique pan with the base dovetailed on as you would expect on an old pan. What was interesting was the name on the side, along with makers stamps. Cte de Lestrade. We looked up the count de lestrade and found an interesting story. In WWII, the count and his son joined the resistance. The nazis found out and burnt their chateau. The French government later restored it as it was classed as a national monument. The pan is not worth much, but we liked the history.
