I know zip, nada, zero, zilch about pottery, glass & porcelain. Anyone know who would have made this or is it something that's not even worth figuring out the name on?

It's a little over 8" tall. No marking on the bottom except where someone wrote a price in grease pencil or something.

Neat. Would sell well here and if I saw it, I'd think West German or maybe Belgian.

It's a combination she-wee and flower vase for those formal occasions you can't miss a minute of.

I would have thought California Pottery Lava ware or Evangeline ware.

    Thanks janetpjohn.

I thought lava vases had more texture to them Calico?

We had these awful lamps when I was growing up, all lumpy and bumpy and bland gray, and I always connect them with the idea of "lava glaze" vases or lamps.

Maybe I should go look up the term.

Looking up evangeline ware lead me to some images of the same vase form by Canuck with a similar glaze in gray. Maybe I'll be able to find it in orange as well. Thanks Calico.

You often see this form with Van Briggle, including the Anna Van Briggle pieces. With that white clay, this leads me to believe that this is one of the pieces brought over from Dryden. Since yours is unsigned, my bet would be Dryden.

I knew I had one of these at some point. Mine was VanBriggle:

Not so pointy near the bottom as yours. I think a lot of people made this shape.
