How did I miss this sterling mark?

I’ve bought identical candle holder, 4-5 years ago. Could not find any marks and I think I listed it as silverplate or so few times but it did not sell and I just kept it around.
I was researching something different today and came across this listing showing the mark.
I must have missed it as there must have been wax in the sockets.
I tried to find mine but I could not :( I think I donated it not long ago.

We've all had our share of blunders, Kards. Can't go back...

It’s not that I got rid of it but more that I did it recently. I kept it for so long because I liked the modernist look.

We have all done similar and it's probably an expensive lesson to learn.
Take comfort in knowing that you have done somewhat of a PSA today by alerting your friends here to look and look again.

Looks like it was one of a pair possibly. Unsold at $159, hard to say what this singleton would actually bring if sold. Honestly, candle holders are out of fashion in a way. We have a higher end consignment store in town, loaded with designer stuff, MCM, expensive. They have a list of things they no longer take. "Candle holders" is on the list.

But good tip for all of us to look inside if we run across similar. Kind of like the old sterling thimbles, stamp is often inside the bowl part.

I liked it more like an object of art rather than being holder.

It's always possible that yours wasn't sterling. Patterns can be produced both as sterling and as less expensive plate.
