    Hi Maria!

Looks to be made of composition, but I have not seen dolls marked Si Bo before.

She has a European look....perhaps made in Italy?

Can we see a photo of the entire doll both front and back?

    She is very sweet, Maria.
I was thinking Germany, but I am no expert. We used to have them here, and most of our dolls came from Germany.

Sh/He has stitched fingers much like the Lenci dolls of Italy. THIS IS NOT a LENCI however.

Not made of the best of materials, so not an expensive doll when new.

It remains in very good condition.

Could be 30's/40's, very early 50's.

Painted composition head. From the way the "makeup" is on I agree with the dating. The composition got used a lot during WWII because manufacturers could still get it, and I'd bet just afterward too. It was never high end.

If I read Fid's link correctly, the Geiers were doll " doctors".

The photo of the doll with them does have similar qualities as the OP's.

The OP's doll face was/is nicely painted.

Correct.:) We used to have them here as well, but there is no demand for them anymore.:( Going to the doll doctor was always such fun when I was little.

We had a doll hospital in Boston that my mother would bring our dolls if need be. Probably because they came unstrung...........I was always so willing to accompany her to pick up my doll. A "doll hospital" really impressed me when I was young!!

yes. and I'm rather sure that they still have an email address somewhere and if interest be then someone could ask about the puppet in the photo or send them a pic of this one here.
