komokwa The Truth is out there...!

Handcrafted , not hand carved...but it's an older one so the design captures the quality of Haida Art .

Pearlite is the company which sold this type of carvings, the mineral is actually Argilite,it is somewhat like catlinite/pipestone.

    OH !!
Do you have that so wrong....so very wrong to even suggest that Lloyd's board is even in the realm of Haida Argillite

These are made to look like Argillite.....but that's where that ends.

I didn't suggest his was actually Argilite ,I gave the company information and the name of the actual mineral used for "real" carvings. The resin bonded pieces are much like the lava resin tiki "carved pieces.

Oh, it seems like you did !
& there's no mention any ' real carving' in your information.

so i have gotten a report back form biro he says the white paint contains 2.72 % lead used as a drying agent but now he wants to do the age of the chair itself to prove it was built in the first half of the 20th century

and the bottom rung between the legs is missing i suspect it was broken (no saw marks) already before it was painted and maybe he recycled it from the trash ,and the logo is impressed

Here are some of my goodies from the weekend - a Strikalite Scotty lighter, bookmark with birds (maybe parrots), Blue Hornsea spice set, I've never seen the blue before, book shape match vesta and my favourite is the Halloween Fortune Telling Favor Cake Set - unfortunately it doesn't have the original box but all the pieces are there and it does have the little chart that explains what each favor means.
