I am guessing this is probably new, only because of the confusing decoration but WDIK?
It has a snake swallowing the handle, not so unusual. It has grape leaves and wheat sheaves... so does that mean its for beer or wine? There are two men holding tankards, typical German decoration, but in the background there is a pagoda. No marks. It is 10" tall. thanks for any thoughts or suggestions. =) jug.jpg jug1.jpg jug2.jpg jug3.jpg

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    I'm stumped!
Did Germany ever occupy anyplace with pagodas?

I think that might just be a rooftop rather than a pagoda. Latvia apparently has a popular rooftop with a cat perched on top. Kind of reminds of some Scandinavian roofs too.

Hope you enjoy it Laura. I collect salt glaze stoneware and have acquired quite a few pieces of White's over the years, it has a very distinctive look.
