    Hello,

I'm looking to purchase this Partner's Desk. I haven't actually seen it in person yet, but will be scheduling a time to look at it, assuming I'm getting a decent deal.

Originally they had offered it at $500. I spoke with them a bit and they will accept $350.

Is this desk, with it's dings and minor flaws, worth the $350? I like it, but I would want to replace or remove the green felt, and I'm not sure if it's covering old worn leather or worn wood. It's 6ft by 39 inches deep, but 31 tall. They told me Oak, but it looks more like mahogany or other hardwood possibly stained a reddish brown.

    Any ideas on this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Looks like a reasonable buy to me. What can you buy nowadays for that money, that won't be firewood in 10 years?

Shifting it to your place will be the interesting part. It looks like it weighs a ton.

Its nice , but I cant believe they can get that kind of money for it . Youd be lucky to get $150-200 for it here in fla . I realize different areas can command different prices , but this is just a run of the mill victorian desk with not much decoration ( nice though it is ) so Im not clear what they are basing the asking price on ? If I may ask , where are you located ?

I lived in Albany , then Troy ! Now I REALLY dont get their price ! When I was there ( granted 16 years ago now ) stuff like this was dirt cheap ! Honestly , if you like it and dont mind spending the money , then buy it . But in my humble opinion , its way overpriced . Cruise through craigslist and I bet youll find much nicer , much cheaper .

It is walnut. I imagine the felt covered what was originally leather and that might be a bit difficult and/or expensive to replace. The fact that this is a partner's desk makes it more desirable. Otherwise, I am with the others in that nice desks can be found rather cheaply given the right place and time. However, if it fits your needs and $350.00 is not exorbitant to you, go for it. How long will you wait for another partner desk that fits your needs?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

And to state the obvious, I'm sure you can see it's missing one of the dividers lower right.....easily enough to copy and replace I would think.........
